Diary Entry For: Tuesday the 26th of September 2000

When I woke up today I wandered into the kitchen to find the sink and surrounding worktop was covered in pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. By the kettle was a note asking me to wash up (oh, I wonder why. Grrrr!). Normally I wouldn't mind there being a huge amount of washing up to do (okay, that's not completely true - I always mind a large amount of washing up, just not normally as much as I mind it this time) but I couldn't believe my eyes this time. After all, dinner last night had mainly composed of salad! You definitely don't need so much stuff to make a salad. Took me an hour to wash, dry and tidy away that mess and I wasn't happy.

After this I sat and read a bit of my physics notes before getting to the point where all the words were blurring into each other and I couldn't read any more, so I went and fiddled with the computer to see if it would break. It didn't and I'm happy about this (never like it breaking but I always have to try - after all, you never know what something does until you do it. Unless you ask someone, that is. However, that's not an option when you're the most computer-literate person in your family. Maybe I should read some of my computer books instead of fiddling. Nah, where's the fun in that - I may as well go back to reading my phsyics).

One of my friends 'phoned after I'd given up fiddling and switched to Windows in order to play Grand Theft Auto. He wanted to know if I was interested in going out tonight. Having not gone out with my friends since sometime last week I jumped at the chance. It was a pretty good evening and I think I may even have convinced them to spend more time in the student bars once term begins again (although I'll admit I did use the technique of saying "We are going to be going to the student bars when term starts again, aren't we?", but you have to be forceful sometimes).
