Well, my reading isn't going as well as I planned. No matter what I do, I just can't keep my mind focused on it. Ah well, perseverence may be the key. I've drawn-up a timetable to split everything into hour-long sessions, with each session focusing on a different aspect of my course: Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Vibrations and Waves, Astronomy & Cosmology, Case Studies, Particle Physics, Special Relativity and Phases of Matter. This way, I don't get bored and give up because I'm not just going at one subject - I'm splitting my boredom over many! >:) It's Classical Mechanics and Vibrations & Waves that are giving me problems. I haven't been so bored reading something since I revised for my GCSE in Information Systems (oooh, hard drives. How interesting. Ways to label a set of backup disks? What fun!). Still, I did manage to get through a bit of each of these today, so I now remember the Corriolis Force only occurs in inertial systems (ie. if you were seeing the system where the object undergoing this force would be stationary if the Corriolis Force wasn't there) and I remember a few equations from Vibrations and Waves that I already knew but couldn't quite remember off the top of my head; so it's not been a total waste of time. Aside from this, I watched Highlander (expect a review to appear in the film reviews section soon!) and I've also begun work on a new episode of The Life of Nob T. Mouse, entitled Pie Noon. Anyone who visited the site I originally had here (from 1997 to sometime early last year, if I recall correctly) will remember Pie Noon was the title of the Nob Mouse novel I was working on. Well, things being as they are, I never finished that book because I decided the first version wasn't good, rethought the plot and never got around to finishing the new version of the story. Well, now I am. The story will include Frederick and the characters from the Parallel Land, plus maybe even the Nasties; although I'm not sure about those - Frederick may be the only bad guy the story needs. Also, the U.S.S. Cheesy may make a return to the story (It's only appeared in Nob Trek, which isn't part of the Nob Mouse timeline as it's a one-off parody), but it'll look different and probably be called something else - in fact, you'd probably not think it's the same ship at all! I'm not going to give details on when it's likely to be finished because, to be honest, I don't know. Probably not long though - the characters are simple enough to draw and I've already got the plot outlined in my head. |
