Nobby's Super Website of Fun Diary Entry
For: Tuesday the 29th August 2000

At present my life is incredibly boring. I spend the day playing around with stuff on my computer or watching TV, which is hardly a good way to live, is it? In fact, the highlight of my day was a call to Technical Support to get a set of replacement speakers for my computer, as the power button has broken on the pair I have.

For reasons which escape me, the person I spoke to didn't believe I had any speakers on my computer, which struck me as being very odd. Here is an extract of our conversation:

Tech Support: Our computers say no speakers were delivered with your system.
Me: Really? Well, they came out of the same box as the computer and they're sitting on the desk in front of me right now...

After hearing this he put me on hold to "consult with a colleague". On his return he told me there weren't any replacement speakers in stock at that time and I'd have to wait between 7 and 10 days to get them. I then 'thanked' him and hung up. At least they're sending them.

After this I played a level of Grand Theft Auto. It's still a thoroughly enjoyable game even after completing it a few times; although this time I didn't quite manage to complete it, having died on level 3 while en-route to meeting with Uncle Fu to complete the level. >:( Ah well, better luck next time.

After this I took a break from beging in front of a monitor by veging in front of the TV, watching The Matrix on DVD. I still can't get over the picture quality on this film - it's great! You can now read a review by going to the Film Reviews section or clicking here.

Afterwards I spend the whole night sitting in front of my computer (what a surprise), where I while away the time until the midnight disconnect just surfing the web and talking to people on IRC & ICQ. Oh, isn't my life so interesting.
